Amberpet police bust fake job consultancy racket, four arrested

Four persons were arrested by the Amberpet police in connection with a fake job consultancy racket that cheated multiple unemployed youths by promising software jobs through fabricated appointment letters.

The accused were identified as Tembelwar Kishore alias Gopi Krishna alias Manjunath (30), Kirthik B.Y. alias Royal Mosis (34), Vemula Sankar (35), and Alavala Sai Ashok (26). Police said the accused were involved in operating a fake consultancy named “Admifit Consultancy” and have been booked under relevant sections of the IT Act and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Several other accused remain absconding.

According to officials, the complainant, a 34-year-old homemaker from Amberpet, was contacted through Facebook and lured with false software job offers. Believing the claims, she transferred ₹2.3 lakh to the accused on the promise of recruitment in reputed companies.

According to investigators, Kishore played a key role in identifying and approaching unemployed youth through social media platforms and forwarding their resumes to co-accused persons. Kirthik, who was operating from Bengaluru, is accused of repairing and circulating fake appointment letters in the names of reputed software companies through WhatsApp.

Police said Vemula Sankar arranged fake bank accounts and SIM cards used to receive and route the cheated money, while Ashok assisted in handling and operating the bank accounts linked to the fraud network.

Police said at least 35 to 40 unemployed persons were cheated, and the racket has so far been linked to 11 FIRs and around 25 cyber complaints across various platforms.

Multiple mobile phones, SIM cards and debit cards were seized from the arrested accused, along with ₹2 lakh cash and banking instruments used in the fraud.

Officials advised job seekers not to trust social media advertisements offering “backdoor jobs” and warned against sharing personal or banking details with unknown persons. They urged the public to verify recruitment offers through official company channels and report cyber fraud immediately.
