Belagavi City Corporation begins preparations for SIR

Officers in the Belagavi City Corporation have begun preparations for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in the city.

Senior officials held meetings with officers and staff who are tasked with the exercise on Monday.

Staff have been assigned different areas as per the order of the Election Commission and all other preparations have been made to complete it successfully within the scheduled time period, Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) City Corporation, Siddu Hulloli told officers here on Monday.

Corporation Commissioner Karthik M. is the Election Officer and Siddu Hulloli will be the Assistant Election Officer for the Belagavi South Constituency.

Deputy Commissioner (Administration) Udayakumar Talwar is the Election Officer for North and Lakshmi Nippanikar is the Joint Election Officer.

A total of 514 polling booth officers, including those from North and South, will work under the guidance of 40 supervisors.

Already, 68.60% of mapping work has been completed in North, while it 77.06% in the South.

The staff have been instructed to reach the target of 90% mapping. The staff is being provided with necessary training. SIR work will start on June 20 and it will be completed in time, Dr. Hulloli said.
