M. Shivalingaiah, director and professor at the state-run Institute of Nephro-Urology, has been elected president of the South Zone Urological Society of India (SZUSI) for 2026–27.
He was elected at the 37th annual conference of the Association of Southern Urologists (SZUSICON–2026), held in Mangaluru on Saturday.
Dr. Shivalingaiah has held several positions in professional organisations at the state and national levels. He also served as a member of the Urological Society of India (USI) Council from 2023 to 2025.
With around 2,000 members, SZUSI works to promote urological care through medical education, research, professional training, and academic exchange.
