Class 12 student stabbed by classmate with knife on school premises in Sivaganga district

A Class XII student was stabbed by his classmate at a Government school campus near Manamadurai in Sivaganga district on Wednesday (July 15, 2026).

The SIPCOT police were enquiring the two juveniles in conflict with law.

The police said that following a quarrel on the school premises a week back, a boy had inflicted injury on another student with a compass.

The Headmaster and teachers had complained to his parents about his behaviour. The boy who had attacked the other boy did not come to school for four days and returned to school only on Monday.

In order to take revenge on him, the other boy had brought a kitchen knife and attacked him on the school premises even before the morning classes had begun.

The boy sustained injuries on his back. He was admitted to the Government Medical College Hospital in Sivaganga.

The police said that the juveniles would be handed over to the Child Welfare Committee for further proceedings.
