In the wake of the fraudulent registration of land belonging to the Palani Math, the Registration Department has constituted a six-member special audit committee to examine all documents registered during the tenure of suspended Sub Registrar Justin Manikandan.

Official sources said all documents registered between February 5, 2024, when Justin Manikandan assumed charge as Sub-Registrar and the date of his suspension would be subjected to an audit.

The committee has been directed to submit its report within three days. Justin Manikandan was placed under suspension and questioned by the CB-CID, which is probing the alleged illegal sale of 1.4 acres of land belonging to the Dhandapani Swamy Math in Palani.
