The two-day Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) concluded here on Sunday (August 2, 2026), with the organisation announcing a series of nationwide campaigns.
Welcoming Parliament’s passage of the Prevention of National Honour (Amendment) Bill, 2026, ABVP national general secretary Virendra Singh Solanki unveiled the ‘Vande Mataram @150 Years: Campus to Campus Vande Mataram’ campaign at the meet. “The Parliament’s decision to provide legal protection to the honour of Vande Mataram is a historic recognition of a symbol that represents India’s self-respect and cultural identity,” he said.
The CWC also launched the ‘Ek Gaav, Ek Tiranga’ drive. The campaigns will feature tricolour rallies and mass singing of Vande Mataram around Independence Day.
The deliberations focused on implementation of the National Education Policy, organisational expansion, membership drive, student union elections, campus units, women’s initiatives and outreach among tribal students, the ABVP said in a release.
