Ashirwad Hospital will organise a free health camp for journalists who are members of Karnataka Union of Working Journalists in Yadgir on Sunday to mark Doctors Day celebrations, president of the district unit of the union Mallappa Sankin has said.
In a release here, Mr. Sankin said that the free health camp for journalists will be held in Ashirwad Hospital being run by senior physician C.M. Patil.
“Dr. Patil is voluntarily organising the free health camp for journalists considering their selfless service and contribution to build a healthy nation,” Mr. Sankin said and added that chief ophthalmic surgeon and head of Drushti Eye Hospital H. Bheemareddy Patil will also accompany Dr. Patil by providing eye test for journalists.
Heart-related tests, blood pressure, diabetes and other tests will be conducted and, therefore, journalists should come to the hospital by 8 a.m. on the scheduled day, in an empty stomach for availing of these medical tests, Mr. Sankin said.
Mr. Sankin also said that free ocular surgery will be conducted if required on another date. Journalists must bring their identity card given by the union for the current year while coming for health check-up.
An interaction with doctors will be held after the completion of the health camp.
