MoU signed for indigenous chips in CCTV cameras

IIT Madras Research Park headquartered Mindgrove Technologies has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Prama India Private Limited to deploy indigenously designed chips in CCTV surveillance cameras and advanced video security systems.

According to the firm this is one of the largest commercial integrations of Indian-designed silicon to date. Under the agreement, Prama will integrate Mindgrove’s proprietary Vision SoC (its second chip), funded under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology’s (Meity) Design Linked Incentive scheme across its video surveillance and security product portfolio. The partnership also includes joint design and development.

Shashwath TR, Co-founder and CEO of Mindgrove Technologies, said, “This engagement validates our Vision SoC as a production-ready platform capable of meeting performance, reliability, and scale requirements in real-world security systems.” The collaboration comes at a critical juncture for India’s semiconductor ambitions, as the country strengthens efforts to reduce reliance on imported chipsets in sensitive domains such as security and surveillance.

Ashish P. Dhakan, Managing Director & CEO, Prama India, said, “Beyond technology development, this collaboration will help build strategic capabilities within India’s semiconductor ecosystem, foster innovation, strengthen supply-chain resilience, and support the Government of India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat vision in critical technology sectors.”
