Nara Lokesh meets Visa Steel, Emami, Shree Cement heads in Kolkata, pitches Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh IT and HRD Minister Nara Lokesh said on X that he met Vishal Agarwal, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of Visa Steel, Aditya Agarwal, Director of the Emami Group, and Prashanth Bangur, Vice-Chairman of Shree Cement, in Kolkata on Friday (June 19, 2026).

During the meeting, Mr. Lokesh spoke of the reforms the Andhra Pradesh government was carrying out to promote industrial development, attract investment and create jobs.

He cited the State’s long coastline, its existing seaports and the new ones being built, improved logistics, the availability of land and power, and investor-friendly policies as positive factors.

The government intended to make Andhra Pradesh an industrial and manufacturing hub in the country, he said, adding that construction of the integrated steel plant by ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel near Anakapalli had begun. The plant would make the State a major hub for the steel industry, he said.
