Telangana is well-positioned to attract semi-conductor industries, IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu said, urging Malaysian companies to explore investment opportunities in the State.
Speaking during a meeting with a high-level Malaysian delegation at the Secretariat on Saturday, the Minister said that the government was working in a planned manner to develop a comprehensive semi-conductor ecosystem with world-class facilities to meet future industrial needs and challenges.
The delegation, led by Deputy Chief Minister II of Pengang YB Jagdeep Singh Deo, held discussions with the Minister on prospects for cooperation between Telangana and Penang in sectors such as semi-conductors, electronics manufacturing, Artificial Intelligence, innovation, and human capital development.
Mr. Sridhar Babu said that Hyderabad was emerging as an international hub for chip design, electronics, and advanced technologies. He highlighted the State’s potential in sectors including semi-conductor manufacturing, advanced manufacturing, life sciences, biotechnology, clean energy, aerospace, defence, and precision engineering.
He outlined measures being taken by the State government to position Telangana as a global investment destination and said international partnerships were being prioritised to make the State a model for industrial development in the country.
The Minister expressed the view that Penang’s expertise in semi-conductor assembly, testing, and packaging would be beneficial in strengthening Telangana’s ambition to become a global semi-conductor hub.
Mr. Jagdeep Singh Deo said that Penang was keen to work with Telangana and would prepare a comprehensive action plan to deepen cooperation between the two regions.
